Subway Surfers City Free Coins & Keys: How I Get Premium Currency

Subway Surfers City Coins and Keys

I've been playing Subway Surfers since the original came out in 2012. When they announced Subway Surfers City, I pre-registered immediately. It launched in February 2026, and honestly, it's a solid upgrade. Here's how I get coins and keys without spending money.

I was stuck grinding for keys until a friend showed me this. Now I have all four districts unlocked.

What I Got Wrong at First

When I first started Subway Surfers City, I played like it was the old game. Just run, collect coins, avoid trains. But the new game has way more systems. I ignored the missions for the first week. Big mistake. I missed out on a ton of free keys and coins because I didn't check the Quest section.

I also didn't realize you can upgrade surfers and boards. I kept using Jake at level 1 for days, wondering why my scores weren't improving. Once I started upgrading, everything changed.

Where Free Coins Actually Come From

1. Daily Rewards (5 Free Keys): This is the easiest source. Every day, go to the Shop, then Currency Packs. You get 5 free keys just for logging in.

2. Complete Missions (Rookie & Daily): Missions unlock at level 3. At level 6, you get Daily Missions. They're simple tasks: collect a certain amount of coins, hit a target score, use a hoverboard.

3. Progress Ladder: Every time you level up, you get coins and keys. Just play, collect XP, and the rewards come automatically.

4. Play the City Tour Mode: The new City Tour mode has finite levels with clear objectives. Each level gives coins and XP.

5. Subway Surfers City Codes: The developers release promo codes for free stuff like CITY2026RUN (3 Keys).

What Actually Works for Me

After a few weeks, here's my daily routine: Open the shop, claim my 5 free keys, check Daily Missions, play City Tour mode for guaranteed rewards. One tip I learned: save your keys for Super Boxes, don't waste them on revives. Watching an ad to revive is free and does the same thing.

The Catch

All these methods work, but they're slow. Upgrading surfers gets expensive fast. A max-level character costs thousands of coins. And the Super Boxes? You need 10 keys each, and you get 5 free per day. That's one box every two days if you don't spend anything else.

P.S. The Delorean Park district is my favorite so far. The bounce pads are chaos but fun.

I've been playing Subway Surfers since 2012 and I'm so happy they finally made a sequel. The City Tour mode is exactly what the game needed.

The SURFUS2026 code still worked for me today. Thanks for the list of rewards!
